My Voice Survey Testimonials

Through the lens of the 8 Conditions, the My Voice Survey gives students, staff members, and parents an opportunity to voice their feelings and opinions about their overall sense of the school’s climate and culture. A school that is truly student-centered, seeks to foster student aspirations and motivation, and is willing to listen to the voices of all.

“My school has been using the My Voice student and staff survey for the past 4 years. The survey has been one of the most important driving forces behind the planning, implementation, and reflection for our school wide plans. Student voice has been instrumental in creating a student leadership tradition in our school community where survey results help shape the program. Professional development in our school has at its core survey results; ex. the need and importance for staff to have time together balanced with student need and best practices. The My Voice survey is a powerful tool that keeps our vision focused on the eight aspiration conditions which we believe to be at the core of effective learning and teaching the whole child!” - Susan Inman, Principal – Belfast, ME

“I couldn’t believe it when they asked us to take the My Voice Survey.  It was the first time anyone at school asked me what I thought and invited me to do something about it.” - John Yunghans, High School Student – Whitefield, NH

“One of the most helpful things about My Voice was how taking the staff survey helped us resolve our faculty issues while keeping us focused on and attentive to the needs of our students.  The combination of the two surveys kept us from getting off track into our ‘stuff’ because we were working on our ‘stuff’ for the sake of our kids.” - Sue Johnson, Principal – Helena, MT

“After we took the My Voice survey teachers talked to us about things in school that were important to us.  I really believe they care what we think.” - Whitney Vachon, Student – Laconia, NH
